BBC SPORT is the Premier League’s free-to-air highlights broadcast partner in the United Kingdom.
It is the home of the longest-running football programme in the country, Match of the Day (MOTD), shown on Saturday evenings and Sunday mornings.
Now over 50 years old, the popular football show also airs on weekdays following midweek Premier League fixtures.
MOTD is presented by former England striker Gary Lineker, with expert analysis provided by a host of former Premier League players, including top scorer Alan Shearer, Ian Wright, Jermaine Jenas, Phil Neville and Danny Murphy.
Match of the Day 2 (MOTD2) provides highlights of Sunday’s matches with more in-depth analysis of the weekend’s action.
From the 2019/20 season, MOTDx was launched as a midweek magazine programme.
Hosted by Jermaine Jenas, the show focuses on the lifestyle of the Premier League exploring the world of music, fashion, culture and how it relates to football.
BBC Sport also publishes additional content across its digital platforms including BBC iPlayer and BBC Sport’s Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and YouTube pages.
As well as broadcasting the long-running Saturday magazine programme Football Focus, the BBC also shows Final Score, a score, round-up and results service of the Saturday matches.
After the Premier League had to resume its 2019/20 season behind closed doors because of the coronavirus pandemic, the BBC broadcast live four PL matches from the campaign to enable more UK fans to enjoy the action from their homes.
